The recent developments in combustion technologies are due to:

  • the integration of electronics and informatics in industrial processes
  • the necessity of easing the burden on the environment and reducing harmful emissions

The introduction of the microprocessor-driven burner controls make many new applications possible -combustion can now be optimised (electronic burners, oxygen and frequency regulation)- while more complex applications are also possible (CO regulation, combustion of several fuels at the same time and combustion with a continuous pilot burner).

We are driven by new environmental legislation and stricter emission standards, so improving combustion yields and reducing emissions are not the only goals. The use of alternative fuels such as biogas is also targeted.
